Rock Band vs. Guitar hero World Tour?
right now i have a very crappy drum set for rock band that i use for guitar hero world tour. my birthday is coming up and i want to know if i should get the guitar hero world tour drums. i have heard that they were bad. is that true?
Design wise the GH drums are far superior, manufacturing wise though… Not so much. the main issue is the solder they used to attach the wires to the sensors in each drum, they used a woodglue type substance rather than actual solder, so with enough force exerted on the drumpad, you could tap the wires right out of the “solder” and have an unresponsive pad. Each and every single one of my friends, across all three systems, have had this issue with either the Red or Yellow pads.
Generally, you can pull the kit apart and either solder the wires yourself of just gaffa tape them to the sensor and you’ll find the sensitivity is far better than it was before.
In closing, as long as you don’t mind doing a bit of extra work (Which, in all fairness should have been done correctly during manufacture) and paying out the nose for something you WILL have to eventually fix, The GH drums are your best bet.
